IWPSC What's On

This years Christmas Draw will be held on 14th December at Yelfs' Hotel Ryde. All members are encouraged to attend a pleasant social evening. If you require any extra draw tickets please contact Alan Cousins.

I would be grateful if you could pass on this Newsletter to any members who do not have access to E-mail.

We need to know what the level of interest is in a trip to Sheffield Utd on 13th January. The optimum level of support to make the trip affordable is 30 people, as yet not attained. It is envisaged that, subject to the target of 30 being achieved, the cost will be in the order of £70.00 per adult, inclusive of ferry, coach and match ticket, and with subsequent reductions for concession match tickets. We will not make provision for ticket-only sales.

Please take this opportunity to experience an enjoyable 'hassle free day' day supporting the 'Blues'.

We are holding a Charity Racenight on Friday 10th November 2006, at 7.30pm. It will be held at the Southern Vectis Social & Sports Club, 35 Union St, Newport. These nights are always great fun and everybody is welcome - more details in the next newsletter.

Pompey supporters are looking to go to Hampshire's home sunday league game against Somerset on Sunday the 30th of July 2006.

We do not need to buy tickets in advance, we can't actually as they are only available on the gate, price @£15 I think.

We are thinking of possibly going via Pompey, and getting a minibus up to west end (a pain to get to). If you are interested Bill and Liz know as soon as possible so we can make or not make arrangements.

The word ‘celebrate’ and the 2005/06 football season seemed an unlikely combination for many months for those of us who are Pompey fans.

But hold the back page, Harry and the players have turned water into wine and come up with all the bread and fish you can eat, it really was a miracle!

 So we’ve cancelled the wake and organised a celebration night for you and your family and friends at Yelfs’Hotel on  Friday 19th May at 8:00 pm.

CRICKET - Summer 2006

IWPSC is calling all cricket players, anyone who has ever held a bat (or ball), anyone who is reasonably able bodied or anyone else who is up for a laugh. Yes, that means you!

Bill and Tony have gone to enormous trouble to organise a number of evening matches for your entertainment and enjoyment during those long hot summer months when there is no football…well, other than the World Cup!

The first game is on Friday 11th May at Wootton Recreation Ground and anyone wanting to play or officiate or just help (driving people to hospital and suchlike) should contact Bill (884713) or Tony (617035) without delay.

Further games have been arranged on 1st June, 21st June,11th July and 8th August.
