Welcome to the Isle of Wight Pompey Supporters Club (IWPSC) website. This Supporters Club was founded more than fifty years ago and I have had the pleasure to be the Chairman of IWPSC for the last four years. |
Like most supporters clubs our membership numbers tend to fluctuate depending on the success (or otherwise) of the team we follow. However, we may be the exception to the rule, as we have been able to promote the Football Club and draw attention to hard work done by the Members of the IWPSC Committee for not just Pompey fans living on the Island but also the local community culminating last year in a substantial donation to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
Members of IWPSC already enjoy a number of benefits through our excellent relationship with the Ticket Office at Fratton Park, organised away travel, fundraising events, social functions and a regular newsletter. Hopefully the website will increase the level of communication and circulation of news for anyone with an interest in Pompey.
In addition to the benefits already enjoyed by our Members we will now be able to act as a conduit for your views and the latest news from Fratton Park as well as involving a greater number of people in our fundraising events and other functions such as dog racing, playing cricket during those long summer months when there is no football, barbecues and 20/20 cricket; all with a few beers and chat about the latest (crisis) at Fratton Park.
Football is all about opinions and this website gives everyone the opportunity to see and read what fans are saying about our current position as well as contributing your own views not just about Pompey but also the national team, the continuing demise of our near neighbours and local football on the Island.
